Ever considered having a family portrait done? Or interested in having someone photograph an event for you? Didn’t think you could get this done here?!? Well… You’re in for a treat!

I’m happy to report that we have a super talented group of 9 photographers right at your fingertips!! I was so blown away by the pictures that I got from this group that now I’m even more excited to share their work with you! So since it’s holiday season and I’m sure everyone is wondering what you’ve been up to in Saudi Arabia, I think it’s a great excuse to send some really cute family photos their way.

They’re all so amazing that I’m just going to let the photographers and their portfolio do the talking for me 🙂 Enjoy!

“I am a geophysicist by education and photographer by passion.  I love to shoot people, kids, places, macros, sports, architecture, abstract and street photography. I try and shoot photos that tell a story and capture emotions rather than only moments. I always try to bring a photojournalistic angle to my photos as I love to shoot candids. I like to shoot photos in available light, though I would use strobes and other minimal lighting equipment if required. I’ve been shooting families and events in Saudi Aramco for the last 6 years. The largest coverage of community events have been in Ras Tanura and Dhahran.” ~ Sadaqat

“I am a geophysicist by profession. I started taking interest in capturing the moments not later than 2003. The years of 2K brought a creative self awareness within myself. The journey into the world of photography started with  the  encouragement and mentoring  from my husband, Sadaqat Ali. It’s like diving into an ocean where the passion increases as you dive deep. My favourite is to capture candid photos of people, kids and nature. The aim is to capture the story behind the moments. This gives me a chance to cherish and re-live those moments, whenever I want!” ~ Raazia

What’s your favorite part of your job?

For Sadaqat it’s… “capturing natural emotion rather than mere moments.” & For Raazia it’s… “the happiness and joy captured in the pictures is priceless. The candid shots, where I am invisible and the subject is being himself or herself.”

Any tips for clients?

  • Bring your best smile and yourself
  • Be natural
  • October to April is the best time of the year in Saudi to plan for outdoor family photo shoots.
  • Outline your expectations and requirements, and discuss them with us, before the day of shoot.
  • Rest well and eat well on the day of shoot.
  • Your kids are our best subjects. Let them be playful and cheerful.
  • Bring a family activity that all of you enjoy to play together. This will help us capture some joyous moments.
  • Wear colour coordinated clothes for the outdoor shoots.

Erin Clayton Photography

Hilary Gauld Commercial

“I’m Erin of Erin Clayton Photography! As a natural light photographer, I specialize in maternity, baby, child, family and portrait photography.

I began my photography journey in 2010 after assisting a wedding photographer with an upcoming wedding and from there I was hooked. While continuing to assist seasoned wedding photographers for two more years, Erin Clayton Photography was officially launched in 2012 and since then I’ve felt so unbelievably lucky to do what I love!

In terms of my photography style, I like to combine candid images with more posed portraits to fully showcase your life and personality. I love it when my clients share any ideas they have about their upcoming session so that we can work together to make it extra special.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

There are so many aspects about being a photographer that I love, but what always stands out to me the most is the reward of meeting so many amazing people and families. By the end of the session, I feel like I’ve made a new friend!

Any tips for clients?

  1. Be yourself. It’s always a little bit uncomfortable at first to have someone clicking away while you pose, but I promise within five minutes the jitters will be gone!
  2. When booking your session, the location you choose and the time of day plays a big part in the outcome—it can’t be any less than perfect! If there’s a favorite place you love to walk or venture through as a family, I love to know this so that we can incorporate it to make your images extra meaningful.

Sheraz & Hina Mushtaq Photography

SHM1

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Since Hina works for the school she loves capturing the action going on in the school, kids playing/running around, working on their projects, and doing various activities. For me, photography is a hobby and I love capturing the facial expressions of my subjects in portraits.

Any tips for clients?

Never get nervous when facing the camera! The more comfortable you are, chances are that the picture is going to be natural and joyful.

Julie Owens Strawn Photography

Julie Owens“I’m a natural light portrait photographer and I’m self taught.

I started pursuing photography seriously in 2009 after an extended illness and began selling my work commercially then. My photos end up everywhere, but I have been featured in Esquire Magazine Malaysia, Al Jazeera news (one of my London photos was used as a backdrop on air during the London Winter Olympics) the Kipp Report, The National Website of Hungary, the official German Financial Report, Business News Network and the satire site The Middle East Beast, among many thousands of others.

I got into portrait photography here in 2011 after a friend asked me to do a portrait session for her children for Christmas cards. She was so happy that she told other people and thus my portrait business started. I have served many families in Dhahran and I love being able to capture moments of their lives for them.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite parts are being able to capture the unscripted moments, those unguarded seconds when they aren’t thinking about being in front of the camera. From what people have told me, that is my specialty – that makes people ask for me – my ability to capture those shots where people interact spontaneously and joyously together. I love reviewing my photos from shoots and finding those wonderful moments.

Any tips for clients?

If you have a vision for your shoot, tell me! I love when clients have specific ideas that they want to execute! One of my favorite shoots was a tea party themed shoot where we enacted a whole tea party set up in the middle of the desert. Location requests are great too. I’ve been to the beach with clients, shot birthday parties, involved pets, you name it! Most people are uncomfortable in front of the camera and worry how they will look. My job is to put you at ease and make you forget all about the camera in the first place and my overall goal is to ensure that you have fun and will end up with shots that you and your family will treasure forever. The only thing is that I work full time and have limited spaces, so book a session soon!

Amanda Peasley Photography

Amanda Peasley“I am a mother of five amazing kids, ranging in age from teenagers to toddlers – so my day consists of soccer tournaments, algebra homework and potty training all at the same time! I have lived overseas as a teacher, along with my talented music teaching husband for ten years.

My passions for children and traveling led me to photography, so I could document my daily experiences. I have studied alongside mentors, as well as taken classes and workshops to prepare me for running a business. I love hearing peoples’ stories and finding ways to tell those stories through pictures.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is joining together with families to capture their love and connection, while creating keepsakes for families. Family sessions capture the uniqueness of your loved ones right now, so you can always treasure these moments. Children grow so quickly, and your portraits will be wonderful reminders of their baby dimples, gap-toothed smiles, or middle school styles. If you’re like me, you’ll smile every time you walk by these photos displayed in your home.

Any tips for clients?

My advice is to not wait! Any hesitations you may have (about what to wear, locations to use, finding time, etc.) can be solved. Don’t let time pass without documenting memories. I’m happy to help address any concerns and make it a positive experience for everyone.

Sessions start at 400 SAR, and wall art and/or albums are based on your needs and desires. Most families choose to spend around 2,000 SAR in products to display on their walls and around their home. However, there is no minimum purchase required. Instead, I work with you to find what works best for the size and space in your home.

Allison Redmon Photography

Redmon Headshot-2

“Hi y’all, I’m Allison… a Texas girl living in Saudi Arabia.

I’m also mom to London; pregnant with twins, owner of 2 mischievous dachshunds, and the wife of the best cook I’ve ever met. (And he’s cute too!) It’s my desire to capture the little moments of our every day lives.

There is such beauty in the everyday ordinary of childhood and family life, no matter the stage. My goal is to provide you with visual memories of this exact moment in time – the bonds, personalities, and love that make your family’s story its own.

I look forward to capturing your everyday ordinary.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Finding beauty in the everyday ordinary. I love the moments between posed shots where I get to see people naturally interact with each other. I love the wrinkles on a newborn’s back, the silhouette of an expecting mommy, the messiness of playing at the beach. Capturing genuine smiles, emotions and your story is my passion!

Any tips for clients?

Book early on my website for a session (4-6 months in advance!) as I fill up quickly!

All sessions are held on location in the Ras Tanura Aramco compound.  The beaches and greenways in Ras Tanura provide a beautiful setting in which to capture memories!  All photos are edited with colorful vintage tones and/or black and white; my job is to make your photos look beautiful both during and after the session! Clients are given access to 25-50 high-resolution copies of session photos to keep. Sessions average around SR 1000 each.

Donna Weaver Photography

Headshot

“‘Photography is a love affair with life’ (Burke Uzzle, 1938) This is one of my favorite quotes because it sums up how I feel about my photography.

Photography is my ‘Zen’ time. Capturing the essence of life in any genre of photography is the aim of my images. Acknowledging the beauty in all we see, whether traveling and seeing life on a grand scale or looking at the minute details in macro photography to sharing the love between families. Life is beautiful in so many different ways.

I capture portraiture both in studio and on location, from children, families to contemporary glamour and headshot photos.

I have been photographing for about five years seriously and many years before that. I am working towards my Bachelors of Fine Art majoring in Photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and I have had two magazine covers and internal stories over the past three years with Land Rovers Magazine of North America.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is meeting people and finding out their story, then capturing images that reflect that story.

Any tips for clients?

My advice to clients here in Saudi Arabia is to plan ahead. Schedule in advance, especially for outside location shoots. The weather is only so good for so long and weekends especially fill up soon. Communicate openly about what you are hoping to get from your photo shoot. Think about what you want to wear keeping colors simple and coordinated.
